If you’re ready to use this template to inspect your home and make sure it’s done the right way, then follow the instructions below.

Getting Started with the Home Inspection Checklist

To download your free template today, follow the link at the bottom of this page.

Now, start at the top of the page by entering the address and the date of your inspection on the indicated lines.

When you scroll down to the main table of the document, you will see a convenient legend for you to enter letters into the boxes next to each item of the table.
You can also change this system by clicking on one of the items and writing something new to replace it.

Each table below represents a different area or room of your home to inspect. There are also 3 different conditions in which to check if your home is in good, fair, or poor condition for one of the areas.

As a simple example, let’s say that during your inspection of the home, you come across a leak in the kitchen sink. You would simply enter an “Le” in the box next to the kitchen sink box under the condition. If it’s a bad leak, you would enter the “Le” under the poor condition column.

Using this template, you can provide an expert with the necessary details to get your home in tip-top shape.
