Tracking a goal for your business is a great way to make sure you achieve any goal. The Business Project Schedule is a document that helps you monitor the progress of your ultimate goal each step of the way. Simply list these steps in order to accomplish your goal and the template will take care of the rest. This fully customizable timeline sheet gets right down to business as you track the progress of your goal on a day-to-day basis. If you’re tired of letting your plans, goals, or dreams fall by the wayside because of poor planning or lack of organization, the Project Schedule template is the perfect tool to ensure your business succeeds at any endeavor.
How to Use the Business Project Schedule
The first step is to download the free Project Schedule template file to your computer. You will simply click the link at the bottom of this page to download the template file.
Start by choosing the “Week” or “Month” tabs at the bottom of your screen (based on the length of your project) and enter the date into the top-left corner of the page.
Next, you will enter the steps that you want to take in order to complete your goal in column A. The example has these steps broken into three different “Phases” but you can easily change this by clicking on a cell and using the paint bucket tool in the Home Ribbon to create more or less space for your step. Also, be sure to write a new title for your steps as well.
At the top of the screen, you’ll notice a set of dates that correspond with a task within your steps (see example tab for visualization).
As you cross certain milestones for your goal, remember to continue to the next step/phase of your project. You can even leave yourself helpful notes along the way.
Continue to follow these steps until you reach the end date of your project/goal. When all the tasks have been completed you’ll know your journey is at an end and your goal has been a complete success. Now you have the tools to take your project management game to the next level.
